Creating Your Account

To get started with Vinello:

1. Download the app from the App Store
2. Open the app and tap "Register"
3. Enter your email and create a password
4. Verify your email (if required)
5. Log in and start using Vinello!

Adding Your First Wine

There are three ways to add wines to your collection:

• Manual Entry: Fill out the form manually with all wine information
• CSV Import: Import a CSV file with your existing collection

How Voice Chat Works

Vinello features an intelligent AI sommelier that you can chat with using voice or text:

1. Open the Chat tab in the app
2. Select Voice mode (microphone icon) or Text mode
3. For voice: Hold the microphone button and speak
4. For text: Type your question and tap send
5. The AI sommelier responds with personalized advice

AI Personalities

Choose from three unique sommelier personalities:

• Vale: Passionate about natural Italian wines, warm and enthusiastic
• Ziz: French purist with traditional expertise, slightly ironic
• Watson: Data-driven and scientific, British style

Change your personality in Settings → AI Setup → AI Sommelier Personality

Multilingual Support

The AI sommelier can chat with you in 9 languages:

Italian, English, French, Spanish, German, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Chinese

Simply speak or type in your preferred language, and the AI will respond in the same language automatically.

Wine Detection

When you mention wines in conversation, the AI automatically detects them and shows wine cards. You can:

• Tap "Drink It" to log consumption
• View wine details
• Get AI-generated descriptions

Photo Analysis

Photo analysis is available in the Add Wine section:

1. Go to Add tab
2. Tap "Take Photo" or "Choose Photo" to analyze wine labels
3. Wait for AI analysis (5-10 seconds)
4. Review and edit the extracted information
5. Save to your collection

Note: Photo analysis is not available in the chat interface. Use the Add Wine tab for photo analysis.

Editing Wines

To edit a wine:

1. Go to Cellar tab
2. Find and tap the wine you want to edit
3. Tap "Edit" button
4. Modify any fields
5. Save changes

Note: If you increase the quantity, the app will ask if you want to log a purchase.

Logging Consumption

When you drink a wine:

1. Find the wine in your Cellar
2. Tap "Drink It" button
3. Select storage location
4. Enter quantity consumed
5. Add rating and notes (optional)
6. Confirm

Statistics Dashboard

The Stats tab shows:

• Total wines and bottles in your collection
• Total estimated value
• Consumption statistics
• Wine type distribution (charts)
• Monthly trends

Exporting Your Collection

Export your complete collection to CSV:

1. Go to Settings → Account
2. Tap "Export CSV"
3. Save or share the file

The CSV includes all 30 fields and is compatible with Excel and other tools.

AI Setup

Configure your AI experience:

• Name: Your name for personalized conversations
• AI Personality: Choose Vale, Ziz, or Watson
• Voice Speed: Adjust TTS playback speed (0.5x - 2.0x)
• Voice Recognition Language: Select language for Whisper STT
• Conversation Memory: View and manage facts the AI remembers about you

Storage Settings

Configure up to 3 storage locations:

• Name each storage (e.g., "Main Cellar", "Wine Fridge", "Basement")
• Show or hide storage locations in the wine list
• Use storage when logging consumption

Custom Fields

Create custom attributes for your wines:

• Define up to 10 custom fields
• Choose field type: text, number, or select
• Show or hide fields in the wine list
• Custom fields appear as colored pills

Account Management

Manage your account:

• Change Password: Update your account password
• Privacy Policy: View our complete privacy policy
• Export CSV: Download your collection
• Delete All Wines: Remove entire collection (irreversible)
• Logout: Sign out of your account

Subscription Plans & Limits

Vinello offers three subscription tiers with different features and limits. See our Subscription Plans page for complete details on pricing, limits, and features.

Upgrade: Go to Settings → Account → Upgrade Plan to view available tiers and subscribe.

Cancel Subscription: Manage subscriptions through your device settings (iOS: Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions; Android: Google Play Store → Subscriptions).

View Current Tier: Your current tier and usage are shown in Settings → Account.

Note: All tier limits and pricing are dynamically loaded from subscription-plans.html (which reads from tier-config.json) and may be updated without app updates.

Voice Not Working

If voice chat isn't working:

• Check microphone permissions in iOS Settings
• Check backend proxy is available
• Check internet connection
• Try text mode as alternative

Photo Analysis Fails

If photo recognition doesn't work:

• Ensure good lighting
• Make sure label is clear and readable
• Check internet connection
• Try manual entry as fallback

App Crashes

If the app crashes:

• Check iOS version (requires 16.0+)
• Restart the app
• Check network connection
• Contact support with device info and steps to reproduce
